Aid to Educate

“There are many little ways to enlarge your child’s world. Love of books is the best of all.” – Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

Reading is the best habit you can inculcate in a child. The world of books opens up a universe of knowledge and experience that cannot be accommodated in a single lifetime of experience! No other medium can educate a child as much as a book can. Reading can increase a child’s focus and concentration levels while expanding his horizons of understanding and intellect at the same time.

While the craving for knowledge exists in many rural children, they do not have access to libraries or cannot afford to buy their own books. Project Vidyadhari -and as its name rightly means, a supporter of learning- aims to give rural children access to libraries, which will greatly aid their education and help them fulfill their academic and career goals. New libraries will be set up in rural areas and government schools and books will be donated to existing libraries under this initiative.

At present, the target of Project Vidyadhari is to set up libraries for 100 government schools. Though setting up such a large number of libraries is a daunting task, AASA is determined to materialize this dream. Zilla Parishat High School and Social Welfare Gurukul School/College in Manthani, Peddapalli District and Mandal Parishat Primary School in  Malhar, JayaShankar Bhupalpally District have already benefited from this project.

This project also includes conducting motivational sessions that incite the curiosity in children to read and gain detailed information, instead of relying on instant information that pops up on Google.

This initiative will make certain stocking up of not just fiction/non-fiction books but also books necessary for preparing for competitive exams like the Groups exams and Civil Services. Facilitating annual newspaper subscriptions in English and Telugu is another feature of this project.

Some of the other initiatives of Project Vidyadhari include supplying any kind of aid that will help children in their academics. Donations of stationery, textbooks, notebooks, school bags, etc. are also welcome. Under this project, school kits, stationery, and notebooks were supplied to the children of Rainbow Homes, Govt Girls High School, Falaknuma, Hyderabad and in Gajulapalli, Manthani Mandal, Peddapalli District.Â
